Job description: Description :Job SummaryThe Network Administrator’s primary job function is to maintain network hardware and software systems that make up the local and wide area networks in support of the organization’s strategic objectives, risk reduction, and emerging technologies. This includes the maintenance and monitoring of LAN, internet, wireless, and VoIP systems and related hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network management, project management (PM) skills, and the ability to create technical documentation/diagrams and procedural documentation. Collaboration and teamwork are critical to our team’s success and efficiency. While each role on the team brings specialized skills, valuable contributions, and a unique perspective; we function as a single unit and partner in the delivery, maintenance, and support of a secure and reliable IT infrastructure. All job competencies are performed in collaboration with the IT Operations Manager and peers.Job Specific Competencies * Configures, administers, maintains and monitors the performance of Wide Area and Local Area Network systems (voice and data) to ensure stability, reliability and availability.
- Configures, administers, and oversees maintenance of network services.
- Configures, administers, and oversees maintenance of Cisco enterprise systems including Unified Communications (VoIP, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Wireless, ISE, etc.).
- Configures, administers, and oversees maintenance of VPN and associated remote access management.
- Assists the Systems Administrator with managing the following items: Web, Email and Mobile device management and security.
- Configures, and oversees performance of operating and maintenance procedures, as directed by management, including but not limited to system backups, system updates, routine preventive maintenance and changes of software and hardware.
- Provides support to users with server or network related problems.
- Provides 24/7 trouble alert monitoring (via mobile device) for network infrastructure.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical information in simple terms end-users can understand.
- Participates in the long-range IT planning, capacity planning and equipment budget development.
- Exemplifies excellent customer relations with employees, vendors and contractors; shows courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect.
- Carries out all the above duties for all site locations of CVCH. May be required to travel to each site location on a scheduled basis to perform position duties.
- Expected to be prepared to start shift at scheduled time, meet attendance standards, and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
