We are seeking an authentic and results-oriented pre-sales leader with experience in scaling organizations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales and architecture leadership, business acumen, and developing teams.The Presidio Director, Solutions Architect (DSA), is a customer-facing pre-sales leadership position within the Modern Platforms services business. Our Modern Platforms business is growing rapidly and includes the Migration, Cloud, Data Center, Virtualization, DevOps Platform, and Data Protection services practices within Presidio. The ideal candidate will bring valuable industry experience in pre-sales, delivery, or leadership from these domains.The DSA partners with the Modern Platforms Services Delivery Directors and Territory Sales Directors to exceed customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability goals. This leadership role also recruits, develops, and retains top Solution Architect talent within their team. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a solid solution-oriented sales and professional services business.Travel Requirements: This role is remote in any location in the United States and involves 25% travel.Responsibilities include:
- Direct & Manage a team of highly skilled, geographically dispersed leaders and technical Solutions Architects skilled across the Cloud and DevOps disciplines.
- Enable Culture and Advocacy. Recognize the accomplishments and demonstrate the impact of presales team members. Work across internal business units and leadership to identify and be able to provide the presales team with the resources needed to succeed. Share methods, content, and lessons learned with others. Drive an open, positive, inclusive, resilient, change-orientated team culture. Be a steward of the PRESIDIO CULTURE – Teamwork, Execution Excellence, Integrity, and Forward-Thinking.
- Individual Contributor Growth. Set role expectations with team members and execute on collaborative growth assessments and plans for each team member against exemptions. Actively mentor and enable others.
- Talent Management. Recruit and attract talent aligned to the needs of the business. Create individual development plans to advance the team's competencies and provide career growth. Manage a team of diverse technical talent and experience.
- Account and Opportunity Leadership. Align resources with the right opportunities and drive a presales process to goal. Participate in key opportunities to improve outcomes, gain feedback and insights, and create meaningful mentorship opportunities.
- Presales Innovation. Lead presales innovation for relevant focus areas. Map the current state, seek stakeholder feedback, and create collaborative plans to drive innovation in presales measures, processes, tools, and reporting.
- Drive Talent Agenda: Responsible for recruiting and attracting talent aligned to the needs of the business. Create individual development plans to advance the team's skills and provide career growth.
- Operational Excellence: Align resources with the right opportunities and drive a presales process to gain technical wins. Ensure teams position the appropriate services and document detailed customer requirements and expectations.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to identify customers' needs and drive engagement to support financial goals.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain long-term loyal client relationships and establish and attack/convert competitively held accounts. Be in front of clients as much as possible, both virtually and in-person, to present Presidio solutions and to gain knowledge about the client business requirements.
- Partner Relationships: Build credibility and strengthen relationships with manufacturer partner teams.
- Advocacy: Recognize the accomplishments and demonstrate the impact of presales team members. Work across practices and executive leadership to identify and provide the presales team with the resources needed to succeed.
- Collaborate with other practices and organizations to drive all of Presidio’s Capabilities in tandem with the Modern Platforms team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 10+ years combined experience in Consulting presales and/or delivery providing services to large enterprise clients.
- 3+ years leadership and/or management experience in presales
- Experience with complex Cloud and Data Center Migration projects
- Experience with Microsoft and AWS migration funding programs
- Experience with leading teams that utilize automation, infrastructure as code, and DevOps platform solutions
- Established understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and solutions
- Ability to define value and market for data center and virtualization solutions
- Intimate knowledge of and experience with Cloud, Data Center, Virtualization, and Enterprise architectures
- Depth of Industry Context and Solutions knowledge
- Understanding of Business Process and Digital Disruption
- Proven Technical problem-solving and design ability
- Demonstrated ability to execute in a highly matrixed environment
- Strong presence and track record of engaging and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Strong operational skills in managing a budget and optimizing resource alignment.
- Experience in organizational design and change management.
- Ability to present and capture the audience attention in a large room of employees, clients, or vendors
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, in written and oral form, to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team(s); lead by example
