Customer Service Representative II (Part-time 20 hours/week), Retail Banking (Point Loma - San Diego, CA)

About the position The Customer Service Representative II (CSR II) at HomeStreet Bank is responsible for acquiring, retaining, and expanding customer relationships while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves profiling customers, assessing their banking needs, and recommending appropriate products. The CSR II also performs various teller services, ensuring a superior customer experience at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interview and profile new and existing customers to recommend appropriate banking products and services.

  • Partner with other business lines within the Bank to identify sales opportunities and enhance customer experience.

  • Open and close customer accounts including checking, savings, money markets, certificates of deposit, and IRAs.

,

  • Cross-sell bank products and services to meet customer needs and referral goals.

,

  • Participate in sales programs to generate new customers and maintain thorough knowledge of bank products and services.

,

  • Actively listen to customers and maintain a friendly, positive, professional attitude.

,

  • Resolve difficult situations with creativity, tact, and diplomacy.

,

  • Support branch lobby management and provide exceptional customer service using STAR qualities.

,

  • Participate in community events and perform daily teller services such as processing deposits and withdrawals.

  • Balance cash drawer independently and maintain compliance with cash handling policies.

,

  • Assist in branch audit functions and follow HomeStreet's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years cash handling and customer service experience.

,

  • Banking experience preferred, with some experience in opening new deposit accounts.

,

  • Demonstrated success in cross-selling banking services and products.

,

  • Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers.

,

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

,

  • PC experience required, with knowledge of Word, Excel, and teller/bank software preferred.

,

  • Self-starter, dependable, and able to work under pressure with deadlines.

,

  • Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
