Gorman and Company is looking for a talented and energetic person to join our team as our full-time Painter for The Stella Hotel and Ballroom in Kenosha, WI, The Brewhouse Inn & Suites in Milwaukee, WI and The Embassy Suites in Rockford, IL. As the Painter, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the visual appearance of the hotel by performing painting, finishing, and maintenance work on the interior and exterior surfaces of the hotels. Our Company was also voted "Best Place to Work". We offer a full line of great benefits including 18 days of PTO and 9 1/2 paid holidays. Our Painter will complete a variety of tasks which include:

  • Painting and Surface Preparation which includes prepping surrounding work areas covering furniture and any other areas required. Patch areas as needed to ensure smooth surface and mix paint colors to get the desired color needed.
  • Wallpaper removal, installation and maintenance. Which includes measuring, cutting and installation of wallpaper ensuring smooth surfaces. Repairing wallpaper as needed.
  • Regularly inspect all painted surfaces and conduct touch ups/repairs as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols including the proper handling/storage/disposal of paints, chemicals and tools according to all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping team to prioritize and schedule painting projects.
  • Travel between multiple properties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a painter, preferably in a hotel, resort, or commercial setting.
  • Own transportation. Possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and have a motor vehicle record that meets the standards of insurability set by the insurance carrier to operate a personal automobile while on company business.
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, tools and materials.
  • Familiarity with surface preparation, drywall repair, and wallpaper installation/removal.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety standards and protocols.
  • Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and work on various surfaces.
