Educational Content Consultant --- For Children's YouTube Show! - Contract to Hire

Hi everyone! We are developing an innovative children's show focused on world travel, cultures, languages, music, history, and geography, called Travel Time (www.traveltime.kids)! Our mission is to foster global understanding and celebrate diversity from an early age. We believe that by educating children about different cultures and ways of life, we can help build a more tolerant, curious, and connected generation. THE ROLE: We're seeking an experienced elementary/middle school educator to serve as a curriculum consultant for our show. You'll help develop educational content outlines that align with K-12 curriculum standards while engaging young viewers with fascinating cultural content from around the world. RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Develop comprehensive content outlines for episodes covering various countries and cultures --- Identify key educational elements that align with US school curricula across different grade levels --- Recommend age-appropriate content and approaches for each topic --- Provide insights on what content will resonate with today's young learners --- Suggest references and resources that are currently being used in classrooms --- Ensure educational accuracy while maintaining entertainment value --- Help identify trending topics and interests among K-12 students related to global studies --- Advise on content that will appeal to both children and their parents/teachers QUALIFICATIONS: --- 10+ years of experience as an elementary or middle school educator in the US --- Deep familiarity with K-12 curriculum standards, especially relating to social studies, geography, and cultural education --- Understanding of child development and learning psychology across different age groups --- Experience with educational content creation (lesson plans, activities, curricula) --- Knowledge of effective educational video content for children --- Passion for global cultures and travel --- BONUS: Experience with SEO or understanding of what educational content children and parents search for online --- BONUS: Background in multicultural education or global studies WHY THIS MATTERS: This show aims to address a fundamental gap in education by celebrating global diversity rather than fearing differences.
