*** IN NEW GRETNA, NJ AND BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ - Relocation Assistance available VALHALLA BOAT SALES, a subsidiary of Viking Yacht Company, is seeking Marine Service Technicians to add to their team in their 2 New Jersey locations, New Gretna and Brick Township: Job Summary: Performs routine maintenance in the areas of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, systems. Performs boat repairs on center console boats and outboard engines, utilizing various power and hand-tools. Work is completed under the supervision of a Lead or Supervisor. Mercury and / or Yamaha certifications a plus! Essential Duties: 1. Perform installation and repair of fixtures and equipment for mechanical service, electrical systems, plumbing and plumbing fixtures, motors, pumps, ventilation and auxiliary systems, propellers. 2. Ability to perform maintenance, repair and installation work on a variety of outboard engines, with particular focus on Mercury and Yamaha outboards. 3. Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with outboard engines including electrical and fuel system issues. 4. Install new engines, steering systems and other marine components. 5. Knowledge and ability to install and repair marine hvac and refrigeration (ice box) systems. 6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals. 7. Provide exceptional customer service including communicating with customers regarding repairs and service. 8. Accurately complete service records and warranty claims 9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, attending training sessions as needed. 10. Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks. 11. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area. 12. All work to be performed to Viking / Valhalla quality standards. 13. Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned. Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience working on center console boats High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) Certificate or degree in the marine education field. Mercury and / or Yamaha Certification preferred. Reading, math, and writing skills. Computer skills Viking / Valhalla is an EOE / m,f / ADA employer.
