FedEx Freight, Inc. in Memphis, TN has the following opening for a Ops Research Scientist II Job Description: Formulate and apply sophisticated... modeling and other advanced analytic methods using a computer to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Identify performance improvement opportunities via data analysis and develop decision support tools to ensure most cost conscience, efficient use of company resources that supports service objectives. Identify, analyze, interpret and visualize trends or patterns in complex data sets. Develop concepts into business plans utilizing appropriate research techniques, methodologies, and experience and present them to senior management with recommendation for implementation. Provide project support or individually design and develop models for testing, validation and evaluation of strategic proposals. Evaluate alternative systems or transportation networks employing financial, computer, geographic or operational models as appropriate. Position allows for partial remote work and reports to company office in Memphis, TN. Job Requirements: Requires a Master’s or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline. Experience is required (3 years with Master’s or 0 years with PhD). Must have some experience or education in each of the following skills: Java, Python, SQL, SAS; Optimization/Simulation Software, including CPLEX, Gurobi, FlexSim; Mathematical Optimization and Solution Methods for Linear and Integer Programing; Relational Database Systems, including Oracle, DB2, Terradata; and Statistical Software and Reporting Interfaces, Data Mining Tools, Machine Learning Techniques, and Data Visualization.
