Job Title: Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Job Code: 21628 Job Location: Tulsa, OK Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: The position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Operations, is responsible for the management of the Manufacturing Engineering Group (Industrial, Manufacturing, Test & Tooling Engineers) The ME Manager will take a lead role in establishing and improving manufacturing processes and technologies using Lean/Six Sigma principles, provide technical expertise in support of procurement activities and develop team members for growth and technical proficiency. Additionally, the ME Manager takes a leadership role with involvement in establishing production lead times and time standards to be met in production. This is a key role in the review and establishment of methodizing and creation of production processes and procedures to gain maximum assembly efficiencies. Essential Job Duties • Manages the Manufacturing Engineering Team • Direct work of employees to meet quality and on-time delivery requirements; address production challenges and communicate to appropriate leadership in a timely manner. • Ensures Manufacturing Engineering provides concise assembly process instruction and visual aids to the manufacturing floor to maintain the highest levels of productivity and quality. • Is responsible for the accuracy of work order instructions developed by the ME team that are used on the floor. • Directs the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team to plan, develop and procure assembly tooling and fixtures. • Provides guidance and support to Manufacturing Engineers and oversee their activities on the floor (i.e. process controls and statistical process measurement). • Participates in “Design Reviews”, “Concurrent Engineering” and “Design to Cost” programs in conjunction with the Design Engineering staff. • Presents inputs to design, ensuring the producibility of product in the most practical and cost-effective manner, while maintaining integrity of design requirements. • Drives continuous improvement and employee engagement through: • Leader of standard work • Factory Gemba walk process • Quality improvements and zero-defect strategies • Comprehensive, proactive safety initiatives • Lean deployment • Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke • 5S+1 • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) • Value Stream Mapping (VSM) • Collaborate with Program Management, Supply Chain, and other functional organizations across the Philadelphia Site to manage product flow. • Other job functions as assigned by Management. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 9 years related experience. Or graduate degree with a minimum 7 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years related experience. • In-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing methods, production planning, quality management systems • Experience with implementing lean methodologies and process improvements in a manufacturing environment. • Knowledge in the assembly and test of power distribution systems. • This position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: • 5 years experience in an engineering leadership role • Master’s degree in business management, engineering, or similar field • Experience with electronic components and systems • Six Sigma Black Belt • An effective communicator at all levels of the organization • Proven ability to identify performance issues and implement the necessary changes in a timely and effective manner • Good technical skills to recognize and solve assembly and related production problems to maintain workflow #LI-PMI L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
