Quality Assurance Supervisor

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and monitoring adherence to the quality assurance system, including quality standards, inspection, test methods, and procedures for the organization. Determine and recommend necessary inspection and test equipment required for incoming, in-process, and final product inspections. Work with department supervisors/managers to resolve quality problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. • Oversee and manage the Quality Assurance Department, communicating issues to Production and Management. • Work with Production Managers and Leads to ensure the successful delivery of quality goods to customers. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. • Utilize data to drive decision-making to support continuous improvement. • Independently resolve most operational issues (customer requirements, facility concerns, technical problems) within set operational parameters. • Directly supervise employees and perform other managerial responsibilities, including interviewing and training. • Ensure the Quality Management System is effectively measured through internal and third-party audits. • Manage laboratory inspections and approvals through internal procedures in accordance with ASTM standards. • Approve the manufacturing process through instructions and procedures carried out by the Quality Laboratory and Quality Assurance Technicians. • Improve the Quality team's standards to ensure all procedures and tasks are completed effectively. • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations. • Provide employee coaching, mentoring, development, and team-building opportunities. • Ensure adequate inventory for the Quality Department and order supplies as needed. • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies. • Foster positive employee relations and effective communication. • Perform other related duties as assigned. SKILLS: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred). • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. • Relationships with customers and proven ability to address any customer quality issues. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines and prioritize workload. • Exceptional verbal communication and technical writing skills with an ability to effectively interact with and convey information to people who possess varying levels of understanding. • Strong cross-departmental relationships. • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 6 years' experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment. • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience. • Experience in ISO9001, Quality Audits, and Supplier Quality. • Knowledge of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards.
