Rig Mechanic

SNELLING is currently seeking candidates for a Rig Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic position at an oil and gas services company in Kilgore. This Rig Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic position could be someone who has worked as a Rig Mechanic before or someone with trade school/on the job experience as a Diesel Mechanic who is willing to train. Given the wide range of experience the client is willing to consider, pay will depend on experience. While the shop is located in Kilgore, the mechanic will go to various drilling sites within a 2-3 hour radius of the shop to perform preventative and break/fix maintenance. Candidates should have at least some of their own tools that they can use on the job. Hours are generally 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is some on call responsibility with this job, although after-hours service calls aren’t all that frequent. This Rig Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic position will be direct hire, meaning that SNELLING would work with you through the consideration and interview process and our client would be your employer upon an offer being accepted. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Rig Mechanic role OR formal trade school training (Diesel Mechanic) OR a combination of schooling and hands-on experience that relates closely to the job requirements • Must be able to consistently lift up to 60 lbs., occasionally heavier loads • Steel-toed boots are required • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records check for insurance purposes • Must have the ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach for long periods of time in a non-climate-controlled environment SNELLING is a contingency recruiting firm, placing candidates in flexible (temp and temp-to-hire) and direct hire positions for over 60 years.
