Job Description Acadia (NYSE:AKR), headquartered in Rye, New York, is a fully-integrated, self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust. Through our REIT and Opportunistic Fund investment platforms, we are focused primarily on the acquisition, ownership, redevelopment and management of retail properties, including neighborhood and community shopping centers, urban high-barrier-to-entry street retail, and mixed-use properties with retail components. Position Overview The Director, Risk Management is responsible for aligning Acadia’s risk management strategy with financial prudence while ensuring comprehensive compliance. This position focuses on protecting the Company’s assets, reducing exposure to risk and optimizing insurance programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy partnering with and advising both internal team members and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective risk management and insurance strategies. This is an onsite position that requires in-office presence a minimum of 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement and manage comprehensive and competitive insurance programs for the firm’s real estate portfolios and corporate operations, including the negotiation of policy terms and conditions. Allocate premiums and create insurance budgets, forecasts, financial reports. Report and manage all liability and property related claim requests from insurance carriers and outside legal counsel; participate in claim review meetings and analysis of claim reserves. Provide consultation and technical advice on insurance and risk management issues to departments. Perform asset acquisition due diligence, identifying and analyzing significant risk management and insurance issues, compiling required underwriting data and making appropriate recommendations. Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with and manage services provided by insurers, brokers, claims counsel and other service providers necessary to the management of the risk management programs. Review contracts to evaluate risk related provisions, assuring competitiveness and compliance with insurance and risk management policies. Supervision and training of risk management administrator. Coordinate the collection and review of insurance certificates from third parties to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Develop and implement relevant risk management policies, training and communication to ensure compliance of legal and corporate governance strategies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required ARM/CPCU/CRIS/RIMS-CRMP or Risk Fellow preferred. Minimum of 4+ years in the corporate risk management position as a risk management professional in the real estate industry. Experienced in Property, Builders Risk, Casualty including construction related liability, Environmental, Directors and Officers Liability, EPL, E&O, Cyber, Fiduciary and Fidelity coverages Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying viewpoints and to develop viable solutions. Strong project management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, demonstrate leadership, drive results, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The base salary compensation range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $145,000. Employees may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
