Pharmacy Technician - Purchasing

At Elevance Health, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician - Purchasing to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and accuracy in their work, and will be an integral part of our purchasing and supply chain initiatives. This individual will be responsible for acquiring pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. We are looking for a self-motivated team member who is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a purchasing role, as well as a Pharmacy Technician Certificate from an accredited institution. They should also have a strong working knowledge of medical terminology and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: Acquire pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies. Manage inventory levels and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in all purchasing processes. Ensure proper documentation and accurate data entry. Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors. Monitor supply levels and anticipate potential shortages. Monitor expiration dates and facilitate timely return of expired products. Troubleshoot problems related to purchasing or supply chain. Maintain a safe and secure environment for the storage of pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and standards for purchasing and supply chain.
