Lead Product Designer

We are looking for a Product Design Lead to take ownership of our app’s end-to-end design experience and design system. This is a player-coach role in which you will be a part of one product-engineering team and work hands-on with that team on various projects, while also managing and mentoring a small team of product designers who are a part of other teams. You will play a crucial role in defining and implementing our design strategy, ensuring that our product solutions are user-friendly, accessible, and are aligned with business goals. How will you make an impact:

• Help define product priorities by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Content) and ensuring that priorities are aligned with the company strategy
• Set design priorities by translating company and product strategy into actionable cross-team design priorities & processes that drive business impact and user satisfaction.
• Build and maintain a Design system with accessible components and governance processes that support product and content needs, and guarantee UX and design consistency across the app.
• Ensure high standard of product design by coaching and mentoring designers to produce high quality output, advocating for best practices in product design and ensuring well thought-out user experiences in an evolving product
• Provide hands-on design support by creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for key initiatives within your product-engineering team.
• Manage a small team of two product designers, providing feedback and guidance to elevate design craft and problem-solving , taking care of career growth and employee life-cycle.
• Provide Accessibility expertise by advocating for best practices, ensuring inclusive and compliant design solutions.

What we value:

• Product Design Expertise : 8+ years of  deep experience in modern UX, UI, and interaction design, with a portfolio showcasing successful design work in complex digital products
• Tech-savvy: Strong grasp of technical possibilities and the ability to challenge teams to go beyond what is obvious  
• Design system expertise: Experience building, maintaining, and evolving a design system
• Accessibility Expertise :  you are familiar with a11y standards and implementation that are compliant and help create inclusive products.
• Team leadership : 2+ years of experience with leading mid to senior level product designers , helping set processes and standards for the team , coaching and mentoring team members and providing opportunities for growth
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions and levels.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thriving in both leadership and individual contributor capacities
• Great-to-have fluency in German

Your salary: We transparency. We have different levels within our salary bands, and we use these levels to determine a fair salary for each range. Your salary is reviewed at least once a year.The salary band for this role in Germany is: 72.300 - 85.000 EUR annually gross. If you live outside of Germany, we will adapt to your local market. We have implemented salary bands in all job descriptions to ensure we treat all employees fairly.
