General Accounting Specialist (India and US Accounting)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced General Accounting Specialist with 4 to 8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both US and Indian accounting principles, including financial statements, journal entries, revenue auditing, and compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (GAAP, IFRS). This position will focus on managing the general accounting functions for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, assisting with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and customer collections across both US and Indian financial operations. Responsibilities: • Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner • Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US and Indian accounting principles and company policies • Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner across multi-entity and multi-currency environments • Revenue Audit: Conduct revenue audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper recognition of revenue transactions • Reporting: Prepare and assist with financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders, management, and external auditors • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including tax filings and audits applicable in both US and India • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and enhance financial reporting • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and audit teams, to resolve accounting-related issues across different regions Qualifications: • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in both US and Indian accounting practices with expertise in general accounting, a strong background in journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets skills • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with complex data, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and journal entries • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial data and make informed decisions • Language: Proficient in English, both verbal and written • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders • Team Player: Capable of working independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Work Hours Flexibility: Ability to work a minimum 2-hour daily overlap with US business hours (Mountain Standard Time) • Continuous Improvement: Ability to interact with and improve financial systems through innovation and automation • Internet: High-speed internet connection to facilitate a remote working environment Preferred Skills: • Prior experience in a software & services-based accounting environment MyAdvice "We will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it.
