Commercial Title Assistant

About the position As a Commercial Title Assistant at First American, you will play a crucial role in managing the closing process for commercial real estate transactions across the country. This position requires an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and revising title commitments and policies, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with legal standards. Your attention to detail will be essential as you review title search documents, including deeds, mortgages, and legal descriptions, to facilitate smooth transactions. In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work in the office at least three days a week, collaborating closely with the escrow team and other internal stakeholders. You will gather and enter title fees for settlement statement preparation and communicate professionally with clients and colleagues to ensure timely updates throughout the closing process. Your ability to manage time effectively and maintain a high level of organization will be key to your success in this position. The ideal candidate for this role will have a background as a real estate paralegal or possess significant experience in the title industry. Responsibilities • Prepare, review and revise title commitments and title policies , • Review title search documents such as deeds, mortgages, assignments and reconveyances, subdivision maps, assessor parcel maps, and legal descriptions , • Review Buyer, Seller and Lender transaction documents in preparation for closings , • Collate, scan and e-file and/or distribute closing documents , • Gather and enter title fees for settlement statement preparation, working in conjunction with the escrow team , • Communicate professionally and timely to all client and internal communications Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent , • Paralegal Certificate or College degree preferred , • 3 to 5 years of real estate experience preferred , • Real estate Paralegal experience preferred , • Law firm or title industry experience preferred , • Strong time management skills , • Attention to detail , • Excellent verbal and written communication skills , • Proficient with all MS Office products and Adobe , • Ability to quickly learn Company operating systems and a general familiarity with basic IT functions Nice-to-haves Benefits • Medical insurance , • Dental insurance , • Vision insurance , • 401k , • PTO/paid sick leave , • Employee stock purchase plan Apply Job!
