Remote Hybrid Accountant/Bookkeeper for Multi-Company Operations

Job Overview We are seeking a meticulous and highly skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our expanding team. This pivotal role involves managing the financial transactions for a multi-company operation, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance while delivering critical insights to foster business growth. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across several entities. • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently. • Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. • Ensure adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards. • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. • Monitor financial performance, identifying trends and variances. • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process. • Implement and uphold internal controls to protect assets. • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and regulatory submissions. • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects for the executive team. Required Skills • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage, along with advanced skills in MS Office Suite, especially Excel. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential. • A minimum of 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally within the construction services industry. • Experience with owner financial reporting is advantageous.
