Job Description

The Systems Engineer role serves as a hands on subject matter expert for a large, diverse, and complex project in the Hyperscale Data Center industry, performing modeling of data center environments. This role requires excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills. The applicant must be well organized, perform tasks with precision and attention to detail. Specific responsibilities include: Performs measurements and calculations necessary to model data center environments in an in-house data center management system. Obtains data from various systems, performing data transformation as necessary in tools such as Microsoft Excel to import in an in-house data center management system. Serves as a subject matter expert for their assigned product/project capable of performing demonstrations and explaining features and benefits. Works directly with end customer representatives to understand their organization at all facets (business model, processes, and users) and translate their requirements for the internal software development team, as necessary. Engages actively in the software development lifecycle for the system, performing quality assurance activities as required to ensure quality product delivery. Skills And Abilities Self-starter with ability to meet timelines with minimal supervision. Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems, yet biased to action. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates a positive team spirit with collaboration, feedback, mentoring, and coaching. Attention to customer-first ideology driving customer delight. Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Demonstrates can-do attitude, organization, and time management skills. Resourceful ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Delivery using iterative methodology and standard tools and processes.

Required Qualifications

MS Office 365 experience, specifically Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize work, manage time, and respond effectively to a rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Data Center and/or Telecommunications industry. Experience performing take off measurements from drawings. Prior experience reviewing technical drawings such as electrical drawings, floor plans and cable tray layout diagrams.
