Location: Remote/Work from Home Salary: $30-$40 per hour (Depending on Experience) Job Type: Full-Time Contract Job Description: VocoVision is looking for a qualified teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to join our team for the 2024-25 school year. This fully remote position involves delivering engaging lessons using virtual platforms to students with hearing impairments. Key Duties: • Assist an on-site teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing. • Create virtual lessons that are interactive and aligned with the curriculum for DHH students. • Use technology like video chat and captioning services to communicate effectively. • Provide individual instruction, adapting methods for various communication modes, such as ASL. • Work with families and educational teams to develop and implement IEPs. • Continuously assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed. • Maintain detailed records of attendance and academic achievements. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s in Deaf Education or related field (Master’s preferred). • State teaching certification/licensure in DHH education. • Minimum two years of experience with DHH students, particularly in virtual settings. • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and educational technology tools. • Ability to build strong connections with students and parents remotely. • Must hold an Illinois teaching license.
