The Credit Analytics and Strategy Team is responsible for analyzing and driving strategies that help both fuel growth of the portfolio as well as protect the business from losses. A day in the life... • Develop and analyze data that is used to interpret credit card acquisition, portfolio, and card marketing campaign performance • Ability to execute an analytical plan and make actionable recommendations • Accurately set forecasts and expectations for strategy/campaign performance and compare actual performance to these expectations • Monitor the performance of existing acquisition, portfolio, and card marketing strategies and campaigns and present findings in a concise and effective manner via related reports and presentations • Monitor emerging trends across new and established account vintages • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including TD Bank, Card Marketing, Implementation Teams, Operations, Product, and Finance, to increase share of Nordstrom sales, deliver a world-class customer experience, and meet business objectives • Complete additional Ad hoc requests as necessary You own this if you have… • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Advanced degree preferred. • 2+ years’ experience in gathering, reporting on, and analyzing financial data, preferably in the consumer credit card industry • 2+ years of experience in extracting large data sets from various relational databases using SQL (Oracle, Teradata preferred) • Ability to write SAS/SQL code from scratch to pull, join, and summarize data • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced MS Excel skills • Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Industry strongly preferred • Intermediate knowledge of statistics and analytical approaches and how they apply to strategy and test design (i.e. decision trees; A/B tests; conduct power analysis; calculate breakeven lift; test for difference in proportions & means) • Proven ability to proficiently communicate complicated data and analytical issues verbally, in writing, or in presentation form to managers and core stakeholders • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team Nordstrom is able to offer remote employment for this position in: Colorado and Washington.
