Position Overview: We are looking for a Server Farm Expert responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining Apple's IT infrastructure in a 24/7 environment with rapidly shifting priorities while ensuring high availability of the infrastructure. Attention to detail and effective documentation skills are crucial to success in this role. Key Responsibilities: • Safety, Security, and Compliance: Foster a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of server farm activities. • Team Coordination: Provide daily functional support of work plans, coordinate with Server Farm Operations teams, business groups, and project leads to support the lifecycle of IT hardware, including installation, support, and decommissioning. • Hardware Management: Perform power cycles, replace failed components, handle storage media, and troubleshoot issues. • Installation and Maintenance: Conduct cable installations, hardware rack/stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard server farm processes. • Physical Support: Assist with moving and racking equipment, supporting the deployment of on-site server farm physical infrastructure including servers, network switches, and storage devices. • Inventory Management: Assist the server farm inventory and asset management team with shipping/receiving and inventory management to support high work volumes. • Leadership: Lead through change by providing clarity, creating energy, and delivering success. • Operational Assessment: Assess and triage work requests, provide planning detail, and aid in the prioritization and coordination of service delivery for server farm operations teams. • Flexibility: Work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and holidays. • Safety Equipment: Use appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and face coverings in various conditions with temperatures ranging from 79°F to 105°F. Minimum Qualifications: • Experience with macOS, iPadOS, Windows • Ability to support continuous standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights • Minimum of 2 years of related IT experience • Technical certifications such as ITF+, A+, Server+, BICSI Installer I or equivalent experience • Ability to work within a server farm environment with temperatures ranging from 79°F to 105°F • Availability to be on-call after normal business hours to respond to and resolve urgent business issues Preferred Qualifications: • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills • Ability to take direction with minimal supervision • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with internal customers and vendors • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively • Knowledge of safety procedures, established protocols, and equipment Join us at Apple and be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence.
