YOUR DAY TO DAY As a ghostwriter, turn our community’s experience into engaging first-person content after interviewing one or more subject matter experts (SMEs) for each article. As an editor, support other SMEs in refining their ideas from the outline to the final version. One day, you'll interview our VP of Expansion, the Managing Director of Endeavor Indonesia, and one of the most respected founders from Pakistan to ghostwrite a piece like this one. The next day, you're editing a provocative essay about down rounds. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. As the Senior Editor of Elsewhere, your responsibilities include: • Thoroughly editing and copyediting all content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to our tone of voice. • Writing and editing articles for Elsewhere, encompassing headlines, body copy, and long-form content. • Assisting in reviewing the editorial work of junior writers and SMEs. • Serving as the guardian of the digital publication's Home Page, editing titles, and sections to attract more readers. 2. As a Ghostwriter of articles for Elsewhere, you will: • Conduct interviews with one or more sources for the articles. • Emulate various writing styles, tones, and voices. • Collaborate with SMEs to craft the outline and message they wish to convey, guiding them to apply Endeavor’s criteria for compelling storytelling. Great candidates for this role have: • 8+ years of experience in editorial, journalism, content strategy, or other relevant writing roles, acting as an editor and ghostwriter. • Experience writing about entrepreneurship, startups, or venture capital. • Proficiency in substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency. • Skill in editing content to be easily skimmed, enhancing readability, flow, and engagement. BENEFITS The contractor's hourly rate ranges from $50 to $70, covering 20 to 40 hours per week, for an initial twelve-month period. Contract renewal may be possible after this initial project phase.
