Why This Role Matters

Every call you make as a Customer Support Agent directly influences the availability of blood for surgeries, trauma care, and chronic illness treatment. By engaging donors, scheduling appointments, and providing accurate information, you become a vital link in a life‑saving chain. This position offers a unique blend of tele‑marketing, customer service, and donor education, allowing you to make a tangible impact while enjoying the flexibility of a work‑from‑home environment.

Position Overview

This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity based in Charlotte, NC, with an initial on‑site training period followed by remote work. The role requires strict adherence to training attendance, a quiet home workspace, and the ability to handle high‑volume calls with professionalism and empathy. Successful candidates will transition to a full‑time schedule after three weeks of intensive training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound tele‑recruiting calls using a predictive dialer to invite eligible individuals to donate blood.
  • Navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously to verify donor eligibility, locate appropriate blood drives, and update donor records in real time.
  • Schedule donation appointments, ensuring clear communication of date, time, and location to maximize donor show rates.
  • Follow scripted call flows and compliance guidelines to deliver a consistent, positive donor experience.
  • Maintain daily production metrics, including call volume, appointments set, and conversion rates, to meet established collection goals.
  • Educate donors on eligibility criteria, reducing deferral rates by providing accurate, compassionate guidance.
  • Document all interactions accurately to prevent errors, support donor relations, and ensure a reliable donor pipeline.
  • Identify and develop new donor leads, contributing ideas for recruitment programs that expand the donor base.
  • Handle inbound donor inquiries, routing calls to the appropriate department when necessary.
  • Collaborate with community and corporate donor groups to promote arenaflex’s mission and maintain a positive public image.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the broader goals of the donor recruitment division.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED acceptable).
  • Minimum of one year experience in telemarketing, call‑center operations, or customer service.
  • Proficiency with multiple computer applications and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a calm and persuasive demeanor when speaking with diverse callers.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a quiet home office, free from interruptions during scheduled call times.
  • Commitment to full attendance during the mandatory training period; no absences are permitted.
  • Vaccination requirement: full COVID‑19 vaccination or documented initiation of the vaccination process prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Previous experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or blood‑donation outreach is a plus.
  • Familiarity with donor management software or CRM platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed call‑center productivity metrics.
  • Empathy and cultural sensitivity when interacting with donors from varied backgrounds.
  • Basic knowledge of blood donation eligibility guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Technical Agility: Quick adaptation to new software tools and dialer systems.
  • Resilience: Ability to handle rejection and maintain motivation.
  • Time Management: Efficiently balance call volume, documentation, and follow‑up tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Share insights and best practices with peers and supervisors.
