Position Overview – Member Benefits Advisor (Remote)

The Member Benefits Advisor at arenaflex serves as the frontline champion for our members, delivering exceptional service, resolving inquiries, and educating customers on the value of their insurance and ancillary products. This role is pivotal to arenaflex’s strategy for member satisfaction, retention, and brand advocacy. You will engage with policyholders, group members, and prospective customers through inbound calls, providing courteous, knowledgeable, and solution‑focused assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming non‑complex customer service calls from policyholders, group members, and other stakeholders in a courteous, professional, and prompt manner, adhering to arenaflex’s quality standards.
  • Update and maintain accurate billing, eligibility, and member information within arenaflex’s administrative systems.
  • Process and fulfill customer requests—including policy changes, coverage inquiries, and benefit clarifications—while following approved policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on arenaflex’s product portfolio, policy updates, and active member offers to provide accurate information and identify cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Document interactions, capture feedback, and share success stories or improvement ideas with the team to drive continuous enhancement of the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with peers and supervisors on special projects, process improvements, and training initiatives.
  • Engage in soft‑sales activities by highlighting relevant benefits and optional products that align with member needs, without applying high‑pressure tactics.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism when handling escalated or emotionally charged situations, employing de‑escalation techniques to achieve positive outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Additional education in business, communications, or related fields is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a high‑volume customer service or call‑center environment.
  • Prior experience handling insurance, benefits, or claims inquiries is advantageous and may qualify you for a Level II position after successful training.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Solid understanding of customer service principles, best practices, and call‑handling etiquette.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy when entering data into multiple systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort navigating web‑based CRM platforms.
  • Capability to work independently, manage time effectively, and contribute positively to a collaborative remote team.
