[Remote] Staff Network Engineer

They are seeking a Staff Network Engineer to operate at the enterprise level, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network security systems while ensuring the resilience and efficiency of the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing a holistic strategy and tactical plan of implementation, as well as operationalizing investments which ultimately result in a resilient network architecture that is scalable to meet the growing business needs as well as lowered mean time to repair and time between incidents
  • Ensure that requirements (both business and technical) and use cases are collected with requirements defined to meet expectations in the most efficient and economical way possible
  • Establish testing strategy, standards and/or objectives in alignment with company enterprise IT objectives
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performing network security systems
  • Ensure the security, stability, and efficiency of the network infrastructure
  • Responsible for Network Security Design and Implementation, including design, configuration, and deployment of solutions to meet organizational security requirements
  • Develop and maintain network security policies, procedures, and configurations
  • Integrate network security systems with other security and networking technologies
  • Create network designs, implement network deployments and provide level 4 operations support
  • Craft and deploy Network Infrastructure Solutions as per the business needs
  • Interact with business partners, project managers, infrastructure implementation managers, facilities partners, server admins, application owners and vendors for delivery and maintaining service level agreements
  • Break down complex business requirements into workable tasks and solutions from network infrastructure standpoint
  • Design network diagrams with Visio: manage Cisco ACI Fabric Network Infrastructure as a product owner; and manage project tasks for network deployments
  • Responsible for routing and switching, and management and maintenance of Cisco Nexus Dashboard Tools such as Nexus Dashboard Insights & Orchestrator
  • Maintain proper documentation for entire SDN environment
  • Identify and bring forward ideas to improve the overall support of Network Infrastructure
  • Monitor and maintain network systems to ensure optimal performance and security posture
  • Conduct regular assessments, testing, and remediation of identified issues
  • Responsible for network engineering implementation and design projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Document network designs, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and operations, to align network security practices with business goals
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, security incidents, and network performance
  • Ensure network systems adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards
  • Participate in audits and assessments, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors

Skills

  • Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
  • Requires two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Core networking principles, including routing, switching, security and ACI's specific technologies
  • Routing and switching protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VXLAN, or EVPN
  • Spanning Tree, Port Channels, or Virtual Port Channels (vPC) for building and maintaining ACI fabrics
  • Designing and implementing ACI solutions based on business requirements, including configuring fabrics, policies, and application profiles
  • ACI Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) to manage and configure fabric
  • Managing technical teams and collaborating with other data center engineers, architects, operations and security personnel
  • ACI concepts, architecture
