Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Education. State Teaching License for Junior High or High School Education; ELA Endorsement preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience teaching honors-level Language Arts at the junior high or high school level. Proficiency in advanced writing and grammar skills, with the ability to effectively impart these skills to students. Tech-savvy mindset with a willingness to adapt to new software and digital platforms. Knowledge of Latin is advantageous but not mandatory. Reliable internet connection and a professional home setup conducive to remote teaching.

Responsibilities

Deliver honors-level courses in Junior High and High School Language Arts, emphasizing reading, grammar, spelling, and writing, aligned with state educational standards. Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to students' needs and interests, utilizing digital platforms provided. Employ a variety of instructional strategies, including inquiry-based learning, lectures, and discovery activities, to optimize student engagement and comprehension. Assess students' academic and social progress, maintain accurate records, and generate progress reports as required. Facilitate remote learning effectively, ensuring student engagement and productivity. Make recommendations for supplementary instructional resources and aids as necessary.
