Position Overview – Principal Architect, AdTech Customer Data & Identity

arenaflex’s Marketing and Loyalty division is the engine that drives brand loyalty, revenue growth, and customer engagement. As the Principal Architect – AdTech Customer Data & Identity, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of a next‑generation customer identity platform that powers personalized advertising, data‑driven insights, and seamless cross‑channel experiences. This is a senior, remote‑first role that reports directly to the Head of Marketing Technology and partners closely with product, data science, engineering, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver a scalable, privacy‑first customer identity solution that aligns with arenaflex’s strategic vision and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and implement data models, identity graphs, and unified customer profiles that enable precise audience segmentation and real‑time activation across Demand‑Side Platforms (DSPs) and other AdTech channels.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging standards (e.g., UID 2.0, IAB Transparency & Consent Framework), and best practices to continuously evolve arenaflex’s data ecosystem.
  • Design and enforce data ingestion pipelines, cleansing processes, and enrichment workflows that ensure high‑quality, trustworthy data while adhering to security and privacy policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Marketing, IT, Data Science, and Legal—to translate business objectives into technical solutions and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data architects, and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, architectural diagrams, and governance frameworks to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement optimizations to meet SLAs and support high‑volume campaign execution.
  • Champion data privacy, consent management, and compliance initiatives, ensuring that all identity solutions respect user preferences and regulatory mandates.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing large‑scale data solutions, with at least 3 years focused on customer identity platforms.
  • AdTech Expertise: Proven track record of building and operating high‑impact advertising technology systems, including experience with DSPs, DMPs, and identity resolution.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of data modeling, identity graphs, UID 2.0, match‑and‑link identifiers, and data interoperability standards.
  • Security & Privacy: Strong knowledge of data security principles, GDPR, CCPA, and industry‑wide consent frameworks.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud, including serverless architectures and data lake solutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications in Software Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Experience working in a digital marketing or e‑commerce environment, especially within the travel or hospitality sectors.
  • Hands‑on experience with data clean‑room technologies and privacy‑preserving analytics.
  • Familiarity with consent management platforms (CMPs) and identity resolution tools.
  • Proven ability to architect solutions that balance performance, scalability, and compliance.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills—able to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaborative spirit and the ability to build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Agile methodology experience and a commitment to continuous delivery.
  • Passion for staying current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
