We are seeking a passionate, empathetic, and collaborative individual to join our team in a volunteer capacity. Learn more: https://missingpiecessupportgroup.org Missing Pieces Support Group is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding that supports our programs and mission. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity for individuals who want to contribute their skills to a growing nonprofit organization while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit development and fundraising. The Volunteer Grant Development Coordinator (Grant Writer) will identify funding opportunities, research prospective grantmakers, prepare compelling grant proposals, and help manage the grant application process from start to finish. This role also involves collaborating with team members to gather information, track deadlines, and strengthen relationships with funding organizations. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with a diverse team
  • Ability to understand and communicate organizational programs, goals, and funding needs
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of funding opportunity sources
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
  • Available to work remotely with a flexible schedule of approximately 4 hrs per week
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote team environment

Bonus if you have…

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or 501(c)(3) entities
  • Previous grant writing, grant research, fundraising, or development experience
  • Demonstrated success in securing grant funding is a plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission, programs, and strategic goals
  • Actively work to improve knowledge and skills of the grant submission process by using available online resources.
  • Maintain and update a grant tracking system, including deadlines, requirements, and submission statuses
  • Prepare high-quality grant proposals by determining concept, gathering information, writing drafts, incorporating feedback, and obtaining approvals
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to develop strong, competitive funding requests
  • Track grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications and reports
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on grant-related activities
  • Review and provide feedback on draft proposals developed by other team members, as needed
  • Assist in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with foundations, corporations, and other funding partners

TIME COMMITMENT

  • Volunteer role with flexible hours (estimated 4–6 hours per week)
  • Remote, with occasional virtual meetings as needed
