Job Summary: Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher We're seeking an experienced and skilled Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher, you'll play a critical role in delivering personalized instruction and support to special education students. You'll leverage your knowledge, skills, and experience to drive student engagement, academic achievement, and social growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized and engaging instruction to special education students, using a range of technological tools and tactics to drive student learning;
  • Provide one-on-one support to students and parents through regular communication, using chat, email, text messages, and telephone calls;
  • Evaluate student needs and prior written history to determine and implement appropriate accommodations;
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring proper documentation and implementation;
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of student progress, intervening as needed to address gaps and deliver remediation;
  • Collaborate with peers and administrators in a professional, positive, and student-focused manner;
  • Participate in company events, activities, and meetings, demonstrating a positive and supportive attitude;
  • Maintain a strong and supportive company culture by supporting company recruitment, retention, and community outreach goals;
  • Proctor student assessments, including traveling to testing locations and facilitating the test;
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs.

Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess a range of essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education;
  • A current Special Education Teaching License and teacher certification;
  • At least three years of experience teaching special education, with a proven track record of success;
  • Extensive experience writing and implementing IEPs and holding IEP meetings;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy;
  • Excellent communication, technical, critical thinking, customer orientation, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail skills;
  • The ability to quickly learn, use, and adapt new technology and systems;
  • Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • At least two years of online teaching experience;
  • At least one year of experience learning or working online;
  • The ability to obtain teaching certification in Arizona, Colorado, and Washington;
  • The ability to pass required background checks.
