XDA - Computing Writer

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-22

This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis. Applicants must be located in the US or Canada. Are you an experienced blogger with a knack for cutting through the fat and extracting the beating heart of a story in a flash? Oh, and do you have a serious passion for everything computing? XDA is looking for Computing Writers to cover relevant and up-to-date informative PC updates, guides, and releases in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The XDA team is constantly scouring the Internet for the latest tech news, sharing tips, tricks, tutorials, and videos, and reviewing the latest devices, apps, and gear. Our computing section is growing fast. We’re looking for a sharp, adaptable voice to dive into our core verticals:

  • PC Hardware: Staying on top of the latest CPUs, GPUs, storage, monitors, keyboards, and mice.
  • Software: Breaking down AI tools, productivity apps, self-hosting, and home lab setups.
  • Operating Systems: Navigating the ins and outs of Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Devices: Evaluating SBCs (Single Board Computers), laptops, gaming handhelds, and prebuilt PCs.
  • Home: Unpacking networking trends and smart home ecosystems.
  • Entertainment: Tying the culture together with the latest in digital entertainment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to contribute reliably and consistently (buying guides, tutorials, and news) under tight deadlines.
  • Willing to input work into our in-house CMS, as well as find and format images, according to our guidelines.
  • Stay up to date on the latest computing news, products, and hardware updates.
  • Coordinate with the editorial team for assignments and feedback.

Application Requirements

  • CV
  • Cover Letter (tell us why you want to write for us!)
  • 2-3 tech articles you've written that best demonstrate your writing abilities.

Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following requirements:

  • Relevant experience in writing and editing in the English language.
  • Relevant PC building skills and hands-on technical experience.
  • Expert knowledge and broad familiarity with PCs, PC parts, and the broader tech landscape.

The hiring team at XDA will get back to you as soon as possible if we think you'd make a solid addition to the team. Only applications containing relevant writing samples will be considered. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
