Senior Sponsorship Manager - Sports & Entertainment
About the Role
Our client, a dynamic organization at the forefront of the Leisure & Sports and Entertainment industry, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Sponsorship Manager. This hybrid role, based in our San Diego, California office, will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing strategic sponsorship opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, marketing, and partnership development within the sports and entertainment landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in building valuable relationships and driving revenue through innovative sponsorship strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to achieve revenue targets. Identify and prospect potential corporate sponsors whose brands align with our client's properties. Create compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations tailored to prospective partners. Negotiate and close sponsorship agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Manage and nurture existing sponsor relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for program expansion. Oversee the execution of sponsor benefits and activations, ensuring contractual obligations are met. Analyze sponsorship performance and provide regular reports to stakeholders. Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities in the sponsorship space. Collaborate with marketing, events, and communications teams to ensure integrated activation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sponsorship sales, marketing, or partnership management, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry. Proven track record of successfully securing and managing significant sponsorship deals. Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong understanding of brand marketing principles and activation strategies. Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid environment.
