Position Overview
arenaflex is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Remote External Support Engineer – Content Tools & Workflow Specialist to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
As an External Support Engineer at arenaflex, your day-to-day work will be dynamic and varied. You will wear many hats, including technical support specialist, trainer, advocate, and collaborator. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Providing Technical Support: Serving as the primary technical point of contact for external content creation teams, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely, effective solutions related to content tools.
- Creating Reference Materials: Developing clear, comprehensive documentation, guides, and training resources that help external teams quickly learn and master the toolset, enabling them to work independently and confidently.
- Debugging and Problem-Solving: Investigating tool and workflow issues, identifying root causes, and implementing practical fixes to minimize disruption for end users.
- Escalating Complex Issues: Identifying when issues require deeper engineering intervention, escalating them to the internal tools development team, and tracking progress using project management tools such as JIRA.
- Advocating for Improvements: Collecting feedback and suggestions from external teams, analyzing recurring pain points, and advocating for workflow enhancements that improve the user experience.
- Collaborating Across Teams: Partnering with other engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop new tools, refine existing processes, and drive efficiency and quality improvements.
- Leading Cross-Disciplinary Dialogs: Guiding conversations between creative, technical, and production teams to move features from initial concept through to successful completion.

Essential Qualifications

- Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience that demonstrates comparable expertise.

- Support Experience: Previous experience providing technical support in a live service, production, or tool environment, with a track record of resolving user issues effectively.
- Defect-Tracking Familiarity: Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar defect-tracking and project management software.
- Mobile Development Knowledge: Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile development concepts and workflows.
- Professional Coding Experience: A minimum of five years of experience delivering production-level code in a professional environment, demonstrating a strong foundation in software development best practices.
