Role Description This is a full-time or part time remote role for an On-Camera News & Entertainment Reporter at International Career Show. In this role, you will research, pitch, and develop news and business and career opportunity segments focused on providing employer solutions, careers, industry trends, and business topics relevant to the show’s audience. You will appear on camera to conduct interviews with employers, entrepreneurs, and subject-matter experts, delivering engaging, concise, and accurate reports. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing scripts, preparing questions, coordinating with producers and videographers, and adapting content for multiple platforms, including online and social media. You will also help draft supporting materials such as segment descriptions or press releases, maintain strong editorial standards, and collaborate with the broader production team to meet deadlines and content goals.
Qualifications
- Strong reporting and journalism skills, with experience gathering information, verifying facts, and developing compelling story angles.
- Excellent writing skills for on-air scripts and digital content, with the ability to adapt tone and style for news and entertainment formats.
- Familiarity with pop culture, entertainment trends, and audience interests, particularly as they relate to careers and workplace culture.
- Ability to prepare and support press releases and other promotional content that align with segment and brand objectives.
- Confident on-camera presence, clear articulation, and strong interviewing skills, with comfort engaging diverse guests and audiences.
- Experience working with production teams, including basic understanding of video workflows, timing, and live or pre-recorded segments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in broadcast, digital news, or entertainment reporting is preferred; portfolio or reel demonstrating on-camera work is highly beneficial.
- Compensation: $37/hour
- Experienced reporters preferred; comprehensive training is available for entry-level candidates.
