Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and maintain authorization requests in arenaxflex’s utilization management system with a minimum of 10,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour (50‑60 WPM).
  • Receive, triage, and distribute incoming faxes to the appropriate internal teams (Concurrent Review, Behavioral Health, Medicare, etc.) within 1‑2 hours of receipt.
  • Assist the utilization management team by tracking authorization status, ensuring compliance with policies, and documenting referrals, diagnoses, and prognoses for clinical reviewers.
  • Maintain meticulous records, files, and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current on healthcare authorization processes, medical terminology, and arenaflex policy updates; proactively apply new knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Collaborate with the intake department to streamline workflow, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall turnaround time.
  • Perform corrective data entry when discrepancies are identified, ensuring data integrity across all systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous‑improvement initiatives as assigned.

Performance Expectations & Metrics

  • Process 3,500–4,000 faxes daily, achieving a 1‑2 hour turnaround for routing to downstream teams.
  • Maintain a typing speed of at least 60 WPM, consistently delivering 10,000 keystrokes per hour without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Achieve a data‑entry error rate of less than 0.5 % as measured by internal quality audits.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability, adhering to the open‑availability schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Successful completion of a typing test demonstrating 60 WPM or higher; test results must be attached to the resume.

  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in previous employment.
  • Entry‑level candidates are welcome; high school graduates or individuals with retail experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and health‑insurance concepts (preferred but not mandatory).

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 3 months to 1 year of data processing, clerical, or administrative experience.
  • Prior exposure to healthcare documentation, claims processing, or insurance workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with electronic health‑record (EHR) or utilization management platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot and correct data inconsistencies quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear interaction with internal teams and external partners.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Speed & Accuracy: Ability to type quickly while maintaining a near‑perfect error rate.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficiently manage high volumes of documents and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
