[Remote] Founding Marketing Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. LASO Health is a company focused on providing innovative health access solutions through its employer product, WorkWell. They are seeking a Founding Marketing Manager to build the WorkWell brand and drive marketing strategies that resonate with brokers and employers, ultimately enhancing the visibility and trust of their non-insurance health access product.
Responsibilities
- The WorkWell brand end-to-end: voice, visual system, website, sales collateral, social presence, and the through-line that connects them
- The content engine: weekly broker-facing content, monthly long-form pieces (POV essays, case studies, market commentary), and the editorial calendar behind it
- Broker-channel marketing: the materials, campaigns, and presence that make brokers want to bring WorkWell to their employer clients (think NABIP, BenefitsPRO Broker Expo, regional broker meetings, broker-focused LinkedIn)
- Employer-facing demand: inbound generation through SEO, LinkedIn, and targeted campaigns aimed at CFOs, CHROs, and benefits leaders at SMB and mid-market employers
- Member-facing communication: the lifecycle content and messaging that helps enrolled employees actually use WorkWell, because utilization is what drives renewal
- The measurement layer: what we track, how we report it, and what we learn from it
- Days 0-30: Deep immersion. Sit in on broker calls, sales calls, and member support sessions. Read every existing piece of marketing and customer evidence we have. Interview five brokers and five employer customers. Come back with a written assessment of what's working, what's broken, and what you want to ship first
- Days 30-60: Ship the foundation. Refreshed website narrative, sharpened sales collateral, a content cadence that goes live and stays live, and a positioning document that the whole company can pull from
- Days 60-90: Launch the first real campaign. Targeted at brokers, measurable, with a clear hypothesis and a clear scoreboard. By day 90 we should both know whether this is working
Skills
- 4-7 years of marketing experience, with at least 2-3 years owning brand and content end-to-end (not just executing inside someone else's brand)
- A track record of building a marketing function from very early stage. Founding marketer, first marketing hire, or solo marketer at a Series A/B company is a strong signal
- A portfolio of writing we can read. Long-form posts, brand narratives, sales pages, broker enablement, anything that shows how you think and how you write
- Comfort working directly with a founder on narrative and strategy. You are not waiting to be told what to write
- Experience in healthtech, HR tech, insurtech, or another regulated B2B space where buyers are skeptical and category education is part of the job
- The judgment to know when a piece of work is good enough to ship and the discipline to actually ship it
- Direct experience marketing to benefits brokers, TPAs, or self-funded employers
- A point-of-view brand of your own (newsletter, podcast, LinkedIn audience, conference talks) that shows you can build category attention from scratch
- Prior contract or fractional experience, especially in a founding capacity
- Comfort with the modern marketing stack: a CMS you can edit without a developer, a CRM (HubSpot or similar), email tooling, basic analytics, and an AI workflow you already trust
Benefits
- Full-time package on conversion (base + equity + benefits)
