[Remote] Outside Sales Representative
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mid-Am Building Supply is currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative for their Eastern/Central Illinois and Western Indiana territory. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships, improving market position, and achieving sales targets while fostering customer relationships and creating new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all relationship and sales activities relating to Mid-Am customers including the following: annual business planning, training and marketing support activities to all customers and their associates
- Own all relationship, product, pricing, credit, shipping, lead-time and normal day-to-day business issues in a timely manner
- Assess and cultivate strong business relationships with building material focused trade partners whose segment focus aligns with Mid-Am’s product portfolio
- Support existing clients to ensure outperform their expectations and create a positive partnership. Sales call will require presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict client’s future needs
- Identify and develop market leading retailers that can effectively commercialize our product portfolio
- Provide best practice customer/contractor sales training, marketing training, installation training, and service training to appropriate customer contacts
- Collaborate and drive strategic plan, along with strategic partners, that drives results efficiently and sustainably
- Act as the “voice of the market” to the enterprise; provide rhythmic feedback on market factors, customer dynamics and competitive landscape
- Develop a pipeline of new business and demonstrate firm understanding of assigned market
- Maintain correct channels or distribution and proper mapping in each market to collect maximum market share while minimizing market conflict
Skills
- A history of demonstrated success in outside/territory sales, preferably building material outside sales, with the ability to organize time and identify key selling opportunities
- Networking, prospecting, motivation to sell, closing skills, ability to identify customer needs and challenges, market knowledge, and professionalism
- Demonstrates the ability to speak to large groups using multiple delivery methods
- Significant experience in negotiating with customers and successfully resolving any disputes that may arise
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently to achieve results and can also work effectively as a member of a team
- High level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license
- Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours to meet the customer's needs
