[Remote] National Sales Director

The National Sales Director will drive the national sales and education strategy across US retail partners, focusing on sales performance, team leadership, and strong retailer partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver national retail sales objectives across primary accounts and boutique channels
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive sell-through, market share, and brand ranking across all retailers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners; proactively identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Trade Marketing and Commercial Leaders to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution
  • Lead and develop regional field team to implement successful execution of animations, new product launches and overdrive key consumption periods
  • Analyze sales trends, productivity and competitive activity to drive business decisions
  • Serve as a passionate brand ambassador and expert storyteller across all brands
  • Lead the development and execution of national education strategies and training programs that enhance product knowledge, selling confidence and client-engagement
  • Deliver engaging, high-impact presentations and training for field teams, retailers, and events
  • Play an active role in planning and executing events, to bring ideas to life in-market
  • Ensure consistent, elevated customer experience through best-in-class education initiatives
  • Measure training effectiveness and adapt programs based on business needs and sales results
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing national field sales team, including direct reports and freelance talent
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-accountability culture grounded in empathy and performance
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to elevate team capability
  • Build a strong freelance network and strategically deploy resources to maximize business impact
  • Lead by example with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong field engagement
  • Conduct regular market visits to evaluate field performance, retailer relationships and competitive activity
  • Forecast, track, and analyze business performance; adjust strategies as needed to meet goals
  • Own and manage national staffing, freelance, event and T&E budgets
  • Ensure strong financial discipline while maximizing ROI across all initiatives

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in retail, sales, and field leadership roles
  • Prior beauty industry experience is required; candidates must have a strong background working within the beauty, fragrance, skincare, or cosmetics industry
  • Proven success leading multi-level teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proven sales leader with strong commercial acumen across department stores, specialty retail, and boutiques
  • Hands-on, field-first mindset - comfortable leading in-store, identifying opportunities, and driving execution
  • Dynamic presenter and educator; confident public speaker who can engage and inspire teams and retail partners
  • Experienced in hiring, developing, and leading high-performing teams with empathy and accountability
  • Entrepreneurial, agile, and solutions-oriented; able to pivot quickly in a changing retail landscape
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with internal and external partners
  • Solid budget management skills with a focus on driving ROI
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels
