We are currently expanding our Information Designing group, which operates within our Data, Digital, and Strategic Initiatives (DDSI) division, and we are searching for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer who can architect robust data solutions while working remotely from anywhere in the United States. Position Overview

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data pipelines and database architectures that power critical business functions across arenaflex. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing ETL/ELT data pipelines, architecting database schemas, tables, and views, and building sophisticated batch processes using Apache Airflow for multiple high-impact projects.

You will collaborate closely with our Studios and Enterprise Technology colleagues, engaging in activities ranging from requirements gathering to deployment across DEV, QA/UAT, and Production environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from diverse source systems into cloud-based data warehouses and lakes.
  • Architect and implement database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures to support analytical and operational workloads.
  • Build, schedule, and monitor batch processes using Apache Airflow to ensure timely and accurate data delivery across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Studios and Enterprise Technology teams, to gather and refine data requirements.
  • Develop and execute data validation scripts to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of all data assets.
  • Deploy and maintain data solutions across multiple environments including DEV, QA/UAT, and Production.
  • Lead the adoption of best practices in data engineering, software development lifecycle, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Work with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent.
  • Manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization using GitLab and Docker.
  • Optimize query performance, troubleshoot data issues, and provide mentorship to junior engineers as needed.
  • Document technical designs, data flow diagrams, and operational runbooks for ongoing maintainability.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineering role.
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines in production environments.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3.
  • 2+ years of experience working on a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • 2+ years of experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and building relational databases.
  • 2+ years of experience with GitLab or GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • 2+ years of experience using Docker for containerization.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, GitLab, Airflow, AWS S3, and relational databases.
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.
