As a remote‑first company, we champion flexibility, continuous learning, and a supportive environment where every team member can thrive.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven economy, the ability to model, preprocess, and manage massive datasets is a competitive advantage. As a Remote Data Entry & Modeling Specialist at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of our data engineering initiatives, shaping the architecture of cloud‑based data warehouses, designing sophisticated graph models, and ensuring the integrity of both structured and unstructured data. Your work will directly influence product development, analytics, and strategic planning for our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Modeling Excellence: Design, develop, and maintain relational, dimensional, and graph data models that support scalable analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Pre‑processing Mastery: Conduct thorough preprocessing of structured and unstructured data sources, applying cleansing, transformation, and enrichment techniques to ensure data quality.
  • Cloud Data Warehouse Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions on leading cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), focusing on performance, security, and cost‑efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver on timeline commitments.
  • Technology Evangelism: Stay ahead of emerging tech trends, experiment with new tools, and share knowledge through internal forums, external communities, and mentorship programs.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Drive projects from concept through experimentation, prototyping, and full implementation, maintaining rigorous documentation and defect tracking.
  • Relationship Building: Build trust and strong relationships at all organizational levels, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data pipelines, and improve overall engineering best practices.

Essential Qualifications (Required)

  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting complex software solutions, preferably in a data‑intensive environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with a solid grasp of query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional and multidimensional data modeling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Experience with graph data modeling (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune) and transactional/operational data modeling is a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, and release management.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain engineering best practices such as defect tracking, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem‑solving skills, with a pragmatic, product‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with minimal supervision, demonstrating self‑direction and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Have)

  • Hands‑on experience with cloud data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and related ETL/ELT tools.
  • Background in data science or machine learning, with a curiosity for applying analytical techniques to real‑world problems.
  • Research‑oriented mindset: capable of structuring projects from idea generation through experimentation to prototype delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of mentoring junior engineers and contributing to community knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrated resilience and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges and ambiguous requirements.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Skills: SQL, Python or Scala for data manipulation, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data modeling tools (ER/Studio, dbt), and version control (Git).
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to balance critical analysis with hands‑on experimentation, turning raw data into meaningful insights.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with distributed teams across time zones.
  • Communication: Clear, concise articulation of complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with rapid change, continuous learning, and evolving technology stacks.
