Responsibilities

  • Review and improve an existing application rather than designing from scratch
  • Identify areas of friction, redundancy, and unnecessary complexity throughout the product
  • Design intuitive workflows that help users accomplish tasks more efficiently
  • Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, and implementation-ready designs
  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and easy to build

  • Prioritize high-impact improvements that support rapid product readiness
  • Move quickly enough to reach production readiness within two weeks
  • Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to simplify the user experience
  • Translate product requirements and stakeholder feedback into actionable design improvements
  • Identify redundant functionality, unnecessary steps, and workflow inefficiencies
  • Continuously improve usability, clarity, and workflow efficiency across the platform
  • Recommend practical design solutions that improve outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity
  • Collaborate closely with product stakeholders, engineering teams, and end users
  • Work directly with end users to validate that simplifications match real usage
  • Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Participate in product discussions and provide thoughtful recommendations on usability improvements
  • Communicate design decisions clearly and provide rationale grounded in product outcomes
  • Support engineering through implementation by providing organized, implementation-ready specifications

Skills

  • Experience designing and improving existing software products
  • Strong UI/UX design experience with a focus on usability and workflow optimization
  • Ability to simplify complex user experiences and reduce friction
  • Experience translating product requirements into production-ready designs
  • Experience improving existing products through workflow analysis, product requirements, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Strong understanding of MVP product development and iterative design
  • Ability to work quickly and prioritize impact over perfection, including reaching production readiness within two weeks
  • Experience working closely with product and engineering teams, and directly with end users
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows
  • Experience designing for healthtech or other regulated, high-stakes environments
  • Startup or early-stage product experience
  • Experience redesigning or optimizing existing SaaS products
  • Deep Figma expertise
  • Experience supporting products moving from MVP to production readiness
  • Experience working in fast-moving environments with short delivery timelines

Benefits

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • 2-month engagement
