[Remote] Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will lead project initiatives within the Cost Transformation team, focusing on improving business results and supporting strategic activities across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • The position is expected to influence and drive results across all Products and Healthcare Services Cost Transformation initiatives. The primary purpose of this role is to lead projects, support procurement/sourcing initiatives, and provide strategic direction to position the department for long term success
  • Coordination will be required with Operations, Manufacturing sites, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, IT, Finance and Product Management teams to facilitate timely communication and successful project execution
  • Technical and process leadership will be required to support project execution, process optimization, and systems maintenance
  • The incumbent will provide project leadership for the implementation of the organization’s cost transformation strategy
  • This will involve leading various projects and initiatives to improve the business results of each product category and acting as the key liaison among Product Management, Procurement, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, IT, Finance and Manufacturing teams
  • The incumbent provides technical direction on a wide array of operations, business processes, and systems
  • Provide leadership and coordination of activities among the business teams, cross functional groups, and manufacturing teams to ensure financial objectives are met
  • Lead trials, commercialization projects and cost reduction activities to ensure results are delivered within prescribed timelines and meet agreed upon scope commitments
  • Lead large scope projects including product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, cost savings projects, or manufacturing sourcing changes
  • Lead projects related to supply continuity, qualification of new raw material, new raw material suppliers, or finished good suppliers
  • Lead projects related to regulatory, quality, compliance requirements involving new codes and/or packaging updates
  • Lead line extension projects Participate in development of strategic manufacturing and supply chain plans
  • Expertise in SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio supporting tools
  • Provide technical and business process leadership to support project execution, process optimization, and systems maintenance
  • Manage the data integrity and maintenance of required systems to ensure efficient project execution
  • Continually improve existing business processes to enhance project execution success, speed-to-market initiatives, quality, and customer-service objectives are met
  • Support manufacturing units to meet objectives in safety, cost, quality, productivity, customer service, and corporate ethics
  • Support and drive LEAN and cost reduction projects with the line operations, plant teams while utilizing 4-Step problem solving, Kaizen and other continuous improvement tools
  • Manage capital projects, in accordance with CFI’s, to ensure maintenance of assets, provide required capacity, and ensure ROIC objectives are achieved
  • Ensure actions are consistent with regulatory standards and corporate policy

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (or equivalent experience and training)
  • 10+ years of experience in technical and operational assignments with FDA regulated products and manufacturing facilities
  • Must have a broad appreciation and understanding of implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, project management, and change management within medical device industry
  • Must have project leadership experience (scoping to post-launch activities) leading cross functional teams
  • Must have experience with ERP systems and/or supply chain processes
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, influence and manage change to be successful
  • Must be organized and able to work independently
  • Ability to work in complex Global organization and at multiple levels to influence stakeholders
  • International travel is required
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • SAP ERP proficiency
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Multi-lingual skills in Spanish or Chinese
  • Microsoft Access, Power BI proficiency
  • Knowledge across the whole process of developing products from the concept phase through development, production and launch; understanding and demonstrated application of stage gate process in portfolio management
  • Design for Manufacturing methodology
  • Value Analysis and Value Engineering
  • In depth knowledge within the medical device industry including quality requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experienced presenter in corporate context
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to manage dynamic workload, work on multiple projects concurrently, organized
  • Ability to influence all levels of management
  • Ability to improve work processes with proactive problem-solving skills and solution-oriented negotiation skills
