[Remote] Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Hampton North is a Series C, YC-backed startup focused on building AI-powered intelligence tools to combat cybercrime. They are seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain public APIs, design scalable systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to realize product visions.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining public APIs as part of a core API product suite
- Designing scalable systems, web applications, and services used by customers worldwide
- Collaborating with stakeholders to transform product vision into a clear technical roadmap
- Supporting internal business units through shared engineering services and functionality
- Developing cross-functional relationships to understand and empower the mission end to end
- Leading projects as a technical anchor with real ownership and room to grow
Skills
- Min 5 years experience
- Experience working in a fast paced startup
- Experience designing and building scalable systems, web applications, APIs, and services using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Go
- Strong understanding of relational databases including Postgres and analytical databases such as BigQuery
- Comfort with React and TypeScript on the frontend
- Familiarity with GraphQL and data modeling for performance
- Experience with GCP and CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes is a plus
- Ability to bridge customer pain points to technical and product requirements
- High degree of initiative, ownership, and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Strong communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally across diverse teams and levels
