[Remote] Manager, Marketing Content and Copy

The Manager, Marketing Content & Copy plays a critical role in developing and executing content strategies that enhance brand awareness and engagement, while leading a team of copywriters and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, audience-focused copy for a variety of marketing materials, including brand campaigns, webpages, paid media, paid search, email campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
  • Serve as a champion and steward of the DeVry brand voice, tone, messaging, and personality, ensuring consistency and quality across all content and marketing channels
  • Partner closely with the Brand team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns, strategic initiatives, and content that strengthens brand awareness, engagement, and affinity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Academics, Marketing, Compliance, and other subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, compelling, and accurate marketing content
  • Lead, manage, coach, and provide direction to contract copywriters, ensuring high-quality output, brand consistency, and adherence to deadlines
  • Develop and optimize content using advanced SEO copywriting best practices, including keyword integration and alignment, on-page optimizations, content structure and readability, internal and external linking strategies, and EEAT principles to improve organic visibility and engagement
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammatical correctness, and alignment with brand standards
  • Develop brand-focused content that supports strategic marketing objectives, audience engagement, website traffic, inquiries, and enrollment goals
  • Ensure all content adheres to university compliance requirements, regulatory standards, and approved messaging guidelines while maintaining accuracy and brand integrity
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong ownership, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to effectively prioritize competing demands while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve content effectiveness, streamline processes, and contribute innovative ideas that advance marketing and brand objectives
  • Support and attend DeVry’s annual commencement and DeVry Day events through webpages, event materials, video and testimonial support, and on-site event execution

Skills

  • 5-8+ years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, brand content, communications, or related fields with 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing the work of writers, freelancers, agencies, or content contributors
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field
  • Proven experience developing strategic marketing content and copy across multiple channels, including digital, web, email, social media, advertising, and brand marketing initiatives with exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, managing content workflows, and providing direction, coaching, or mentorship to writers and content contributors
  • Well-versed in SEO principles, SEO copywriting techniques, and digital marketing best practices
  • Experience using project management and workflow tools such as Asana, Jira, Monday.com, Workfront, or similar platforms. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools responsibly and effectively to enhance content development, productivity, research, and workflow efficiency while maintaining quality, accuracy, compliance, and brand standards
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills with the ability to think strategically, collaborate cross-functionally, problem solve, and consistently deliver high-quality, innovative work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience creating content within a highly regulated industry such as higher education, healthcare, financial services, or insurance is a plus
