About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Cloud Innovation

arenaflex is a global leader in cloud computing, empowering organizations of every size to unlock the power of data, AI, and scalable infrastructure. Our mission is to enable every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, and we do it by delivering a cloud platform that is reliable, secure, and continuously evolving. At arenaflex, we blend the agility of a start‑up with the resources of a world‑class technology company, creating an environment where bold ideas thrive and customer success is the ultimate measure of our impact.

Why This Role Matters

Customers entrust arenaflex with their most critical workloads, their brand reputation, and the expectations of their own end‑users. When our services meet the highest standards of quality and reliability, our customers win. When they fall short, the ripple effect can be costly. As a Senior Customer Experience Engineer, you will be the guardian of those promises, designing and operating the monitoring frameworks that ensure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) are not just met, but consistently exceeded.

Role Overview

This position sits at the heart of the Observability team within arenaflex Cloud Engineering. You will partner directly with enterprise customers, service engineering groups, and cross‑functional stakeholders to define, implement, and evolve SLO and Service Level Indicator (SLI) strategies that align with business goals. Your work will directly influence the reliability, availability, and performance of mission‑critical applications running on the arenaflex Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with customers to define realistic SLOs and SLIs that reflect their business outcomes and risk tolerance.
  • Instrumentation & Measurement: Embed measurement code, telemetry, and logging into customer workloads to capture SLO‑related metrics accurately.
  • Breach Detection & Automation: Build automated detection pipelines that surface SLO breaches in real time and trigger remediation playbooks.
  • Cross‑Team Integration: Partner with arenaflex service engineering teams to map customer‑defined SLOs to platform‑level SLOs, creating a unified view of health across the stack.
  • Proactive Engagement: Conduct regular reviews with customers, presenting trend analyses, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations.
  • Optimization & Scaling: Lead initiatives to improve system performance, scalability, and efficiency, ensuring that the underlying architecture can sustain higher SLO thresholds.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear, concise documentation, runbooks, and best‑practice guides for both internal teams and external customers.
  • Data‑Driven Insight: Analyze historical SLO data to identify patterns, forecast potential reliability challenges, and propose strategic improvements.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Coach junior engineers on observability best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and customer obsession.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and launching commercial software products or web services.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) within a cloud environment (arenaflex Cloud, AWS, or GCP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating, managing, and evolving SLOs and SLIs for large‑scale cloud customers.
  • 2+ years of experience in an external client‑facing role, with a track record of building trusted relationships.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Go, or Java) and familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Proficiency with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, etc.) and incident‑response workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or 8+ years of progressive software industry experience.
  • Advanced experience with cloud‑native architectures, microservices, and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Prior work developing automation frameworks for SLO breach remediation, including self‑healing mechanisms.
  • Experience with AI‑driven anomaly detection and predictive reliability modeling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) and the ability to incorporate them into monitoring strategies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion—actively contributing to an inclusive workplace culture.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect large data sets, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Customer Obsession: A relentless focus on delivering value to customers, anticipating needs before they arise.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, comfortable working across engineering, product, and support teams.
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative, “no dead‑ends” approach to tackling complex reliability challenges.
  • Automation First: Passion for building repeatable, scalable solutions that reduce manual toil.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive writing and speaking abilities for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. In this role you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior SRE leaders and architects.
  • Sponsored certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, arenaflex Cloud Solutions Expert).
  • Internal hackathons and innovation labs focused on observability and reliability.
  • Opportunities to present at industry conferences and publish thought‑leadership articles.
  • A clear promotion pathway from Senior Engineer to Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, or Product Management roles.

  • Flexible work arrangements empower you to balance personal and professional priorities.
  • Cross‑functional teams operate with autonomy, encouraging ownership and rapid decision‑making.

  • Base salary ranging from $112,000 to $218,400 (adjusted for location and experience).
  • Annual performance bonuses and equity grants aligned with company success.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Generous paid time off, parental leave, and flexible holiday policies.
  • Retirement savings plans with company matching contributions.
