Position Overview

The Remote Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager will lead a distributed team of FSQA specialists, driving compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across arenaflex‑owned meat and dairy plants. This role blends strategic oversight with hands‑on data entry, virtual communication, and cross‑functional collaboration. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring that all regulatory and internal quality standards are met while fostering a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute FSQA frameworks: Design, implement, and maintain robust food safety and quality systems that align with FDA, USDA, and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead virtual FSQA teams: Direct and mentor a nationwide team of quality engineers, auditors, and data analysts, providing clear guidance and performance metrics.
• Drive compliance and audit readiness: Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring consistent adherence to GFSI, HACCP, and other industry standards.

• Support plant start‑ups and expansions: Participate in new facility launches, ensuring that quality systems are integrated from day one.
• Promote a safety‑first culture: Champion proper PPE usage, environmental controls, and employee training to maintain a safe working environment.
• Travel coordination (remote): While the role is primarily virtual, occasional site visits to plants in TX, KS, IN, GA, ND, AR, and other locations may be required to provide on‑site support and mentorship.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related roles within meat and dairy processing environments.
• Demonstrated expertise with FDA, USDA, and local regulatory compliance, including HACCP, FSIS, and FSMS standards.
• Hands‑on experience with microbial testing, CAPA, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven track record of leading virtual or geographically dispersed teams, delivering measurable improvements in product quality and safety.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical information to senior leadership and non‑technical audiences.
• Proficiency in quality management software, ERP systems, and data entry platforms; experience with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Slack) is essential.
