Why This Role Matters

As a Remote Customer Service Representative for our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will be the frontline voice that guides patients through complex, life‑sustaining medication journeys. Your empathy, attention to detail, and ability to navigate insurance and clinical processes will directly impact the health outcomes of individuals relying on specialty therapies. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives while working from the comfort of your home.

Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking motivated, detail‑oriented professionals who reside in Pennsylvania (or within a 75‑mile radius of our Monroeville hub) to join our Specialty Pharmacy Support team. In this role, you will coordinate new patient medication orders, manage reorders, verify benefits, and collaborate with insurers, health‑care providers, and internal teams to resolve any financial or clinical barriers that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous, knowledgeable telephone support to patients receiving specialty drug therapy.
  • Enter new prescriptions and refill requests accurately into the pharmacy information system.
  • Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations; proactively identify and resolve any gaps.
  • Collect and process copay amounts, ensuring transparent communication of financial responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, prescribers, and internal clinical teams to troubleshoot and resolve account receivable or clinical issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all interactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Escalate complex cases to senior specialists while providing clear, concise summaries of the situation.
  • Continuously update knowledge of specialty medications, insurance formularies, and emerging health‑care regulations.
  • Participate in regular training sessions, team huddles, and quality‑improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • Customer Service Experience: Minimum of one year handling high‑volume, complex inquiries via phone, demonstrating the ability to de‑escalate situations and deliver solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: At least one year of experience using Windows‑based applications, Microsoft Office suite, internet navigation, and email platforms.
  • Keyboarding Skills: Proven ability to type accurately and efficiently, with a strong aptitude for data entry.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with a compassionate tone that puts patients at ease.
  • Residency Requirement: Must reside in Pennsylvania and be within a 75‑mile radius of 105 Mall Boulevard, Monroeville, PA 15146.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a health‑care or pharmacy setting, including familiarity with insurance benefits, prescription processing, and medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply clinical guidelines and pharmacy policies.
  • Experience with specialty medication workflows, prior authorization processes, or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) platforms.
  • Certification or coursework in health‑care administration, medical billing, or related fields.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; additional post‑secondary education in health‑care, business, or a related discipline is a plus.
  • Relevant on‑the‑job training will be provided, but candidates with a proven track record of learning quickly in fast‑paced environments will thrive.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex insurance and clinical scenarios, identify root causes, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Empathy & Patience: Demonstrated compassion for patients navigating challenging health journeys.
  • Time Management: Efficiently prioritize multiple tasks while meeting strict turnaround times for medication fulfillment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with cross‑functional partners, including pharmacists, clinical specialists, and billing teams.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment where regulations, formularies, and technology evolve rapidly.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in data entry, documentation, and compliance with privacy standards (HIPAA).

Compensation & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $28.45, commensurate with experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
