Senior Building Consultant

About Us 360 Building Group Consulting (360BGC) is a leading provider of building consulting services for insurance carriers, adjusters, and property owners. We specialize in damage assessment, cost estimating, and reconstruction consulting following property losses from fire, water, storm, and other perils. Our team combines technical expertise with professionalism to deliver clear, accurate, and defensible documentation for our clients. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and estimating, with the ability to assess property damage, prepare detailed repair estimates, and communicate effectively with insurance professionals and property owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess structural and finish damage.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed repair/replacement estimates using Xactimate (required).
  • Analyze construction documents, scopes, and photos to determine repair methodology and costs.
  • Prepare written reports, cost comparisons, and supporting documentation for insurance claims.
  • Communicate findings clearly with adjusters, contractors, and property owners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, restoration, or insurance building consulting.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate (required).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word, coupled with superior verbal and written communication skills and the capability to deliver high-quality expert reports.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction materials, and restoration processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel as needed for site inspections.
  • Experience with insurance claim processes preferred.
  • IICRC, Haag, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field. Or, a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience and achievement in the restoration industry may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Capability to dedicate approximately 50% of daily activities to writing detailed reports or performing detailed analysis based on inspection findings.
  • Ability to physically conduct indoor and outdoor inspections, including carrying equipment necessary for site evaluations. This includes climbing ladders and walking on elevated platforms or substrates.
  • Ability to travel, including local assignments and out-of-state assignments.
