Phlebotomist-Per Diem/Casual

About the position Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team at a Patient Service Center in Riverdale, GA. This is a Casual/Per Diem position, meaning hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary. The role involves performing blood collections, handling specimen processing, data entry, payment collection, and providing customer service. Phlebotomists will work in either a Patient Service Center or Client office, serving as the face of the company and providing skilled specimen collections. Opportunities for continuous growth within the organization are available, and eligible employees may participate in a quarterly bonus incentive plan based on performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program
  • 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years or more of phlebotomy experience
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
