Sr. Software Engineer

This role is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting proprietary web applications used across the organization. This role partners closely with project and engineering teams throughout the Initiation, Planning, Development, Deployment, and Ongoing Support & Maintenance phases of our Agile methodology, working from documented scope and deliverables. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on developer with solid ColdFusion and SQL Server experience, along with practical experience building and integrating APIs, implementing secure authentication solutions, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development Design, develop, test, and maintain ColdFusion-based web applications Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues Enhance and maintain existing legacy systems API & Integration Development Design and implement RESTful APIs Integrate with third-party and internal APIs Implement and support OAuth-based authentication flows Work with API authentication mechanisms including token-based security Support identity and access management integrations (e.g., Keycloak) Database & System Development Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures Maintain and support Microsoft SQL Server databases Perform query tuning and assist with database performance improvements Translate business requirements into effective application and database solutions Environment & Platform Support Support and configure ColdFusion environments using ColdFusion Administrator Deploy and support applications hosted on IIS Apply security best practices within the development process Team Collaboration Work closely with QA, Business Analysis, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams Participate in peer code reviews Contribute to technical documentation Support continuous improvement of development standards Required Qualifications 3–5 years of professional software development experience 3+ years of hands-on ColdFusion development Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs Experience implementing OAuth and API authentication mechanisms Familiarity with identity management platforms such as Keycloak Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Glean, Claude Code, or similar) to improve productivity, documentation, and code quality Proficiency in:HTML, CSS, JavaScript jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap Experience deploying and supporting applications in IIS environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
