Procurement Manager - Technology Sourcing

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm in San Diego, California, US , is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Procurement Manager to lead their technology sourcing initiatives. This role is crucial for managing the acquisition of hardware, software, and IT services, ensuring optimal value, quality, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management within the technology sector. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the company's business objectives and drive cost savings while mitigating risks. Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for technology-related goods and services, including software licenses, hardware, cloud services, and IT consulting. Conducting market research and supplier analysis to identify potential partners and evaluate their capabilities and financial stability. Leading negotiation processes for complex contracts, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs). Managing existing supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships, and conducting regular performance reviews. Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement lifecycle. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including IT, Engineering, and Legal departments, to understand their requirements and ensure procurement alignment. Developing and implementing robust procurement policies and procedures. Managing the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment. Analyzing procurement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization. Staying informed about emerging technologies and market dynamics that could impact sourcing strategies. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPSM) is a plus. A minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role focusing on technology sourcing, is required. Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills are essential. Proficiency in e-procurement systems and contract management tools is expected. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and suppliers.
