Our client, a cutting-edge research and development firm at the forefront of AI innovation, is seeking a brilliant Principal AI Researcher specializing in Computer Vision to join their elite team in Cincinnati, Ohio, US . This hybrid role offers an unparalleled opportunity to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence, contributing to groundbreaking research and developing state-of-the-art computer vision models. You will lead research initiatives, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring novel AI solutions to life. Responsibilities: Lead and conduct cutting-edge research in computer vision, focusing on areas such as object detection, image segmentation, facial recognition, and 3D reconstruction. Develop and implement novel deep learning models and algorithms for complex visual understanding tasks. Design and execute experiments, analyze results, and publish findings in top-tier AI conferences and journals. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research prototypes into production systems. Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of scientific inquiry and innovation. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision research. Define research roadmaps and identify new opportunities for impactful AI development. Contribute to intellectual property generation through patents and publications. Evaluate and select appropriate tools, datasets, and frameworks for research projects. Present research findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership. Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with a strong focus on Computer Vision. Minimum of 7 years of research experience in computer vision and deep learning, with a proven track record of publications in leading AI venues (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML). Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., OpenCV, scikit-image). Deep understanding of mathematical foundations of machine learning and computer vision. Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-oriented environment. Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
